HOME 🇳🇱 - After 14 months of overlanding in Africa, exploring life outside the bubble & with new plans on the horizon: It was time for us to come back home. We missed our friends & family more than we realised and seeing them at the airport was overwhelming. We feel blessed & privileged in every way. To be able to go on this adventure of a lifetime & to be loved by our people at home, even after all this time. NEXT CHAPTER - It's time for the next step in our overlanding adventure. We've been dropping a few hints lately.... Do you know what our next move will be?! PLAYING IN THE MUD - Rainy season in Rwanda got us good. In the flat countries? Mud is fine, our Land Cruiser can take it. In the hills of Rwanda with their red clay however, roads turn into slip 'n slides. Sometimes the only way out is to fully send it. 🚀 Honestly this is one of the most fun parts of overlanding in Africa (when you make it out). RWANDA part 2 🇷🇼 - What a vibe. It's incredible to see the growth of Rwanda in the past 30 years. Clean streets, new roads, a government investing in their country & people. Really refreshing to see! Would you visit Rwanda? RWANDA 🇷🇼 - Here is a recap of our 3 weeks overlanding in Rwanda. We'll be back!! (But maybe won't be eating a Rolex here next time....). LAND OF A THOUSANDS HILLS, RWANDA - Rwanda has astonishing natural landscapes where every possible square meter is used for agriculture. Its nickname 'Pays des Mille Collines' is very suitable. Hills, lakes, vulcanos, gorillas, chimpanzees, big 5, and all in a very small country. A true gem for tourists who enjoy nature and wildlife. MISSED US? - We haven't been posting in a minute. The first weeks in Rwanda we have spent enjoying some us-time exploring the country, it's history, nature and culture. FAV PICS OF BURUNDI - You know the drill, here are some of our favourite moments of our time in Burundi before we move on to our next destination. This little country moved us in many ways and I am sure we will be back here again. Thank you for welcoming us Burundi 🫶🏼🇧🇮 FIELD VISITS - Thanks to all the visits to development cooperation projects in Africa we get to go deep into countries and their communities, often to places tourists will hardly ever go. We are always warmly (and curiously) welcomed and whole villages will come out to see us and our car. If they have phones they will try to get a picture or even better: a selfie. We will try and interact as much as we can (often with big language barriers). BUT WE FEEL SO AWKWARD. Grateful, but so very awkward. Because we aren't anyone special really. We enjoy these visits immensely and these interactions especially but will never ever get used to all this attention. 📸
