ZANZIBAR DURING RAMADAN - Zanzibar is a tropical island known for its gorgeous beaches and turquoise waters. Logically, it's becoming more and more popular as a travel destination for Europeans and Americans as resorts are popping up left and right. But many people forget Zanzibar has over a million inhabitants who are mostly Muslim. This means that during Ramadan, Zanzibaris are fasting from sunrise to sunset. NAMIBIA 4x4 ROADTRIP ITINERARY - We got invited by @char.is.far to share our ultimate 4x4 roadtrip for Namibia... MAMA CASHEW, TANZANIA - Did you know most African grown cashews get peeled in Asia? After which they get shipped back around the world to Europe for consumption? Totally nuts! BIKES IN MALAWI - I was convinced no one in the world could even come close to the Dutch skills on a bicycle. Until we arrived in Malawi. This is just a selection of what we've seen here, they'll transport nearly anything you can think of on a bike. Humans, animals, firewood, whole mini supermarkets. And they'll take such good care of their bikes, even pimping them up with decorations. We wouldn't happily award the throne of bicycle nation in the world to Malawi. 🚲 CAMPING IN THE WILD - In Dutch we'd call this 'wild camping' (wildkamperen). No facilities, no fences, no one around (Although, this is almost never the case in Africa), and very important: Leaving no trace. What would you call this in your language? FARMS IN ZAMBIA - Our visit to Zambia had a theme: Farmers!🚜🌽 EMERGENCY EVACUATION - While camping at the South Luangwa NP the rainfall up north had caused the river to rise very quickly overnight. When the rangers left camp early in the morning they noticed the only access bridge was badly damaged. They came back to wake us up and tell us to pack up and evacuate IMMEDIATELY. Luckily we can pack up and go in minutes with our @alucab_official roof conversion. YOUNG AFRICA - Dorien left the Netherlands with the ambition to make the world a better place. In 1998, she and her husband founded @youngafricainternational in Zimbabwe, Africa. Now, in 2026, Young Africa is active in 10 African countries. YA hopes to have reached half a million young people on this continent by 2026! FAVOURITE FOOTAGE OF ZIMBABWE - Here is a little recap of our time in Zim, in no specific order.
